Join us in Big School for the annual OWA dinner to be held on Saturday 25 April 2026, arriving from 6.30pm for dinner at 7.15pm.
The Dinner is a sell-out every year, so to avoid disappointment we would encourage you to book early.The cost to attend this year’s event is £35 and includes a three-course dinner, excluding drinks. Payment can be made online, by BACS or by cheque.
Places will be reserved on a first come, first served basis. No tickets will be issued, but receipt of your purchase will be acknowledged, either by email or post. Dress code is smart casual and as previously, there is a licensed bar.
The Dinner is open to all Old Wulfrunians, Governors, Directors and Staff (past and present).

Richard Purdy (OW 1999)
Rich Purdy’s journey from WGS to the senior ranks of the Royal Navy is a story of ambition, intellect and purposeful leadership. Joining WGS in 1992 and leaving in 1999 to enter the Royal Navy as a University Cadet Entrant, he set his course early for a life of service and impact.
Rich commissioned into the Royal Navy before attending the University of Southampton, where he read Aerospace Engineering, beginning a career that has spanned operational service at sea and ashore, capability and acquisition, training, and strategic workforce leadership.
Promoted to Commodore in 2024, Rich now serves as Deputy Director People Change within Navy Command Headquarters, leading thinking on the Royal Navy’s future workforce: what skills will be needed, how people will be employed, and how talent pathways are shaped to deliver operational advantage. Known for developing people, challenging established norms, and leading through collaboration, he brings an analytical and innovative approach to complex organisational change.
His energy extends far beyond the office. An accomplished endurance athlete, Rich enjoys indoor and ocean rowing, having recently completed the World’s Toughest Row Atlantic 2025; a formidable transoceanic challenge demanding resilience, teamwork and mental toughness in equal measure. He is also a keen trail runner, cyclist and snowboarder, and spends much of his time exploring the outdoors with his wife Louise and his two sons, Ted and Arlo.
From classroom to command, Rich exemplifies determination, adaptability and forward-thinking leadership. inspiring the next generation to aim high and lead boldly.
