OWs spanning seven decades came together to celebrate WGS' commitment and dedicition to drama.
Dr Chris O'Brien was able to find details from the archives of productions dating from the first known staff dramatic society production of The Bishop's Candlesticks in 1926 to the most recent production of Twelfth Night performed in Hutton Theatre the previous week. Recordings of productions from the early 2000's was a particular hit with OWs; being able to see themselves centre stage from a number of productions.
Amongst the guests were WGS' first girls, borrowed from WGHS, who took part in Oh, What a Lovely War! back in 1983.
Watch this space for the next reunion!
"I just wanted to say a huge, personal thank you for all the effort you put into organising the Drama reunion today. It was genuinely uplifting and heartwarming and all the former students I spoke to had a wonderful time too.
After such a very busy few weeks, I came away smiling, energised and feeling positive."
Jon Wood (OW 2001)
"Thank you for organising this - it was fantastic. It would be great to do it again in the future and try and drag a few more people along.
Many thanks for a great day!"
Mike Walker (OW 1983)
